First Community Paint Workshop Scheduled!

It's official- our first community paint workshop site is booked!

Join us on Thursday, July 11th from 5:30-7:30 pm to paint at the Youth Farm's Bahai Farm site on Chicago Avenue between 36th and 37th street.

Youth Farm is a Twin Cities organization that was founded in 1995 in the Lyndale neighborhood with the purpose of creating an urban environment where youth could flourish physically, socially and emotionally as they mature into young adults. Since then, Youth Farm has expanded and currently serves about 800 youth annually in 5 different Twin Cities communities.

At Green Central school, we have enjoyed working with Youth Farm in our Community Education after school program this year. Once a week, students had the opportunity to cook, create arts and crafts, and visit the Youth Farm sites. We're super excited for the opportunity to connect with them this summer and paint next to one of their amazing youth planted and maintained gardens!

Some words from Youth Farm:

We farm to grow.
We farm to play.
We farm to give.
We harvest relationships along side peapods.
We sow confidence with carrots.
We nurture leaders like the seeds we plant.
We gather peppers along with knowledge.
We tend to cabbage and in turn the community.
We work the land and let it transform us.
We farm to learn.
We farm to feed.
We farm to grow.

Youth Farm
Where leadership grows.

Love that! Read more about Youth Farm, their mission and goals, and find out how to get involved with their amazing youth programming at
